The twilight trio was formed in the spring of 2005. The pianist Alexander Wyssmann decided to put into practise musical ideas, composing with the ideology of Bill Evans who in his piano trio gave each musician the space to realise their styles and musical ideas. The piano, bass and drums of the The twilight trio accordingly aim to reach a level of musical response and exchange of the highest criterium. Stylistically, The twilight trio combines many differing musical catégories, with Swing, beebop, hardbop, cool, pop, rock blending with baroque , classic, soul, hip hop, funk and folk music. Alexander Wyssmann's distinct compositional style and technique ensure that all these influences bind , creating a highly personal and identifiable music. His idols, Bill Evans , herbie hancock, Ray Charles, Esbjörn Svensson, Jan Johannson and Stevie Wonder are all present musically in one way or the other. The group name twilight has to do with Mr. Wyssmann's personal experience with blindness and his wishing to let the world know that blind people don't neccesarly move in the dark rather they live in The twilight.
